Dr Emma Prentice qualified from Queens University in 1996. She is a Denplan Excel accredited dentist and was previously a special lecturer at Queens University in restorative dentistry. Her special interests are tooth wear, implant and cosmetic restoration.
Dr Prentice is committed to ensuring that patients at brunswick achieve great oral health in order to maximize overall wellbeing. Dr Prentice accepts referrals from the UK and Ireland.
Dr Fiona Prue qualified from Queen's University in 1991 and has been established in the practice for twenty years. Highly regarded by patients and colleagues, she has previously been a special lecturer & clinical tutor in Restorative Dentistry at Queens University.
Dr Prue often works with very nervous patients helping them to overcome their fear. She has special interests in conscious sedation for anxious patients and in achieving a natural appearance through facial aesthetic treatments. Dr Prue accepts referrals from practices throughout Northern Ireland.
Dr Ruth Campbell graduated from The University of Sheffield in 2005 and
rapidly progressed to become a Member of the Joint Dental Faculties in 2009.
Dr Campbell has worked in General Dental Practice for over a decade,
providing restorative dentistry to an exceptionally high standard while
demonstrating a natural ability to relate well with all of her patients, instantly
putting everyone at their ease.
Dr Campbell has now returned home to Northern Ireland with her young
family and is delighted to have the opportunity to provide outstanding dental
care in her home town of Bangor.
Dr Moyra Wilkinson might be a relative new girl to brunswick, but she is a dentist with over 25 years of experience in dental practice having qualified from Queen's University Belfast in 1987. Her patients are devoted fans and it is easy to tell why when you meet her.
Dr Wilkinson has also taken on the role of Oral Health Awareness Champion within the practice, helping our local community here in Bangor understand the big relationship between dental and overall health.
A dental therapists job, although similar in some ways to a dentist’s is focused on prevention. There aren’t too many Dental Therapists throughout the UK, but at brunswick we have a commitment to overall wellbeing and are lucky enough to have Mrs Leigh Hunter working with us. Mrs Hunter’s passion is keeping patients fit, healthy and out of the dental chair.
Mrs Hunter works with our patients who have had problem gums or teeth, often because gum disease runs in their family, or because of certain medications they are taking or conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, dry mouth but the list is endless. She is a great motivator for parents and children.
In her spare time Leigh Hunter is training and education provider to dental teams on behalf of Northern Ireland Medical and Dental Training Agency, Nobel Biocare, GSK and other professional bodies and deaneries in the UK and Ireland. She was previously Principal of the School of Dental Hygiene at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast. Mrs Hunter accepts referrals from dental practices and GPs throughout Northern Ireland.
Naweed hails from Carryduff but works in Bangor and Dundalk. He has a special interest in facial injectables and wrinkle reduction and runs our Saturday morning Emergency Clinic.
Joanne Harkin is key to maintaining gum health within the practice. In the dental profession, we are well aware of the links between oral health and overall health. Importantly, she demonstrates simple tips to our patients in maintaining their gum condition away from the practice, to achieve year round health.
Lucy qualified in Glasgow in 1997. She has a special interest in implant dentistry and associated surgeries and been carrying out implant dentistry for over 17 years. Lucy was awarded the prestigious Diploma in Implant Dentistry from The Royal College of Surgeons in England in 2013.
Lucy loves working with her hands and the creative side of dentistry. Her goals are to provide great looking implant solutions that last. In her free time she enjoys travelling with partner Nick and her children Sam and Monty and Mitzi.
Fiona Cowan has over 20 years experience as a qualified dental nurse. As Patient Care Coordinator she will often be your first point of contact with the practice, to help you find your way around and ensure that we can meet all of your needs.
Although much of her time is now taken up with practice management, her heart is still in the surgery and she loves seeing through our extensive makeover cases.
Bernadette has a wealth of experience in general nursing, dental nursing and is our Decontamination Lead Nurse. Bernadette's role involves keeping up to date with all of the latest information on infection control in the UK and putting that into practice at brunswick Dental. Bernadette also trains other team members in decontamination policy and best practice.
With her help our team became Denplan Excel Accredited and passed the recent Regulation Quality and Improvement Authority Inspection in decontamination with flying colours with commendation on the high quality of our staff training from the inspector.
Louise qualified in her National Examination ten years ago and went on to undertake further training in conscious sedation to help our patients with anxiety. She is proud mummy to the gorgeous Lily.
Sarah is the dental nurse who you’ll meet when having your dental implants placed. Reassuring, friendly and kind, she loves to see patients getting their missing confidence back with dental implants. Sarah and is a hockey player and enjoys long walks with her husband, Neil and their dogs, Prince and Shadow.
Ann is a cheery, friendly, happy dental nurse who has worked in practice in Bangor for many years, and is loved by all. Her free time is taken up with her beautiful grandchildren and her passion for dancing.
Hazel has previously worked behind the scenes in the technical side of dentistry but now, as a fully qualified dental nurse at brunswick Dental, you are more likely to meet her as she carries out a health assessment or as she monitors your blood pressure at the practice.
We can’t quite believe it, but Paula has worked on the reception team for nearly twenty years. Paula is caring, friendly and approachable, she loves her work and it shows.
Kate is not only a fully qualified dental nurse but she also works as part of the reception team at brunswick. She has worked in practice for nearly ten years and has now added ‘mum’ to her list of qualifications.
Hannah is our newest member on the Reception Team. Already a registered, qualified, dental nurse, Hannah is well placed to help if you have a query about any aspect of your dental treatment. She loves her new position and is now setting up in her first home which takes up most of her free time.
Mary has been with the practice for over twenty five years. We often laugh as she will pick up your phone call and know instantly with whom she is talking despite never having asked your name. That’s what happens when you know your patients, as well as she knows the patients here at brunswick.
Jill is easy to recognise with her ‘bonny’ Scottish brogue. She’s originally from Aberdeen, but now living in Bangor and enjoying the ‘warmer’ weather!
Sarah has recently joined us as the practice has expanded. As well as being a qualified dental nurse, Sarah is a fitness fanatic and enjoys spending her free time in the gym.
